In order to record the family and local history research in greater depth and in a more permanent form the following books have been published:   

SOUTH FROM BARLEY by Kenneth Barker
The history of the South family begins in the Hertfordshire village of Barley and follows their journey southwards to London and further afield to New Zealand. The founding of the Edmonton pottery by Joseph South in 1868 is described and how the supply of flower pots to the Lea Valley nurserymen continued for nearly 100 years.

HOW RURAL TOTTENHAM DISAPPEARED by Kenneth Barker
Until the third decade of the 20th century an area of North Tottenham straddling the boundary with Wood Green enjoyed a landscape of fields and farmsteads. This book describes how within the course of a few years the area was transformed into the urban landscape of today.
